Wow, I can't believe it's already Sunday and almost time for another week. Well, I'm going to start today with a little "language story." Well, first of all, we changed times this morning, like you all in Ohio. (I didn't know it until someone told me this morning.) Well, anyways, The husband of the family that usually picks me up for church (Brian Nevin) called to say that the Hudson's would be picking me up this morning instead. Well, when the phone rang, I answered it, "Bueno," like I always do. So, Brian spoke back to me in Spanish. I was kind of tired and not really paying attention to what he said. Usually after I say Bueno, the person on the other end says, "Quien es?" which means, "Who is it?" So, thinking that's what he asked I said, "Angelina." Only, then I realized he'd asked me, "Como estas?" which means, "How are you." Well, I recovered from that and got the information I needed, no big deal. Well, not until I got to church. When Brian did arrive, he went to some of my friends in the youth group and told them in Spanish my little mix-up. So, if that wasn't embarassing enough, my friends started going around to another, pretending to greet each other and asked "Como estas?" and the other person would answer, "Angelina." Well..... my face got just a little red as I watched them tease me. So, that was my language story. Onto other news. Well, mom and dad, family and friends,I hope you are sitting down right now because you won't believe what I have to say. Friday night, I got put in jail. Twice. Well, not real jail of course. Let me explain. The school had a fall festival for teachers, friends and families. They have games set up in some of the rooms, rope climbing, jail, a maze, nintendo, cookie decorating and the wedding chapel. About jail: I was hanging around, having a good time, when one of my students came up to me and said, "Miss Starkey, can I show you something?" Well, this was one of my most sincere students who tells me all the time how much he loves school. I follow him around the corner and he says, "I put you in jail!" I couldn't believe it! Well, the student had paid to put me in jail for 5 minutes. He thought it was pretty funny. The second time, it was my friend from youth group. So, I paid to have him put in jail with me. I think he forgot that I could put him in jail too. Well, funny we should be in jail together because later that night we were married. (He was my 2nd of 3 husbands.) I know it sounds interesting, but it's a school tradition that you can pay to have people married. 40 cents - the cheapest wedding ever! Anyways, the 5th and 6th grade girls arranged for me to marry their teacher, Mr. Connor. That was the first wedding. Way later in the evening, I was hanging from a rope on the side of the school, doing the rope climb, when I hear people yelling, "Miss Starkey, you're getting married." Well, they were just going to have to wait because I was dangling in the air. A few minutes later, a little brother of one of my students came and yelled, "Hurry up and get down. You have to get married." I finished the rope climb. So, I go upstairs to marry a 6th grader, a brother of a boy in my class, also the brother of the boy who yelled at me. So, I walk in the room and standing at the altar is not a 6th grade student, but a boy from youth group. (The one I was in jail with.) So, with lots of people watching I married Leandro Lozada. Then, they told me not to go anywhere because I was getting married again, this time to the 6th grader. Well, it was fun. I enjoyed the school activity, even when I was forced in jail and forced to marry. All my students were there. They had a costume contest so they were all dressed up. Well, I can't think of anything else really. Oh wait, one other thing. We've been having a problem with ants. This week, they about drove me crazy, because one day I came home to find them crawling on the side of the refrigerator and on the stovetop. I think the school is going to fumigate. I'll be glad about that! Well, I hope everyone's week was filled with as much enjoyment as mine! I'll write again soon. Angelina
