Hola mis amigos y familia!
Como han estado? It would certainly be good practice to write this all in Spanish, but then again, I'm not so sure you all would like the practice of reading in Spanish. :) Well, I'm on my first Easter vacation as a teacher. Now that I've seen both sides, I think teachers look forward to breaks even more than the students! This past week was actually pretty calm. Our school takes the SAT tests every year in every grade, so we had testing this week. My students took a total of 10 tests in 4 days. So, it was a mentally draining week for them and an easy planning week for me. We did some special things for Easter on Thursday, before our break. I took the students over to my house and we had a little song service. I accompanied them with the guitar for a few songs. That was the first time I've done that. (In case you didn't know, I began learning how to play the guitar in about October.) So, that was neat and then they dyed eggs. Later in the afternoon we had a celebration at school and the parents were invited. We had an egg hunt in the room and had treats. They also did a craft with eggs. It was a fun day. We are off of school all next week. When we get back there are only 6 weeks of school left. So, that means that there are only 9 weeks until my team from LBT comes down to Puebla! How exciting! Please join with me in praying for our team as we prepare and have faith in God's provisions.
For those of you wondering, my grandpa is doing well after his heart attack 2 weeks ago. He had another surgery early this week and is recuperating. Thanks for your prayers.
Well, later this week, I'm going with 3 friends to Oaxaca, Mexico to visit a teacher at the Christian school there. Oaxaca is about 4hr 15 min southwest of us, towards the Pacific coast. It's a lower altitude and is probably warmer than here. It'll be a nice getaway and a nice visit with Janna. So, you can pray for us as we travel.
In closing I would like to remind you all, as well as myself the reason that I'm down here. It's because there is a compassionate, holy God who loved us, as unworthy as we are, and sent his son, Jesus to die on the cross at Calvary for us, to undergo the worst treatment imaginable in order to pay for my sins and your sins. Not only that- because as we will celebrate tomorrow- Jesus was not a mere man, but the Son of God, who rose again on the third day, victoriously defeating death! He is alive today and I'm here to serve God's people who are sharing this fact of amazing love with the world! I challenge you to take a moment and think about how who you are, where you are and what you are doing are connected with Jesus' life, death, and ressurection! If there is no connection, the Lord would love to impact your life on a personal level. E-mail me if you would like to know how to have the kind of relationship with Him and I'd be more than willing to call you or e-mail you and tell you more about it!
Have a great week!
Angelina
