School is officially over!!! Wow, the past two weeks have flown by. I had one student miss the last 2 weeks of school, except for today because he got the Chicken Pox. We had a class sleepover last weekend at one of the students' homes. It was a great time. One girl sprained her ankle and couldn't come, plus the boy who had chicken pox didn't come and his brother didn't come. SO, we were short a few, but the ones who did come had fun. We played games, watched a movie and had a tickling contest.
This week at school was really laid back. We finished up our assignments and played games. We also did some end of the year cleaning, etc. I had to say goodbye to one student whose family will be in the states next year. I will miss him. Last night was the high school graduation. For those of you who know the Hudsons, Debbie graduated. Jeremy and his wife Julie came down, as well as Jon and a few of Rick's relatives. It was fun to see Jeremy again and to meet his wife. He was with us on the mission trip in 1996.
Speaking of mission trips, my team is coming down in a little over 2 weeks. I'm getting so excited. We definitely have a lot of work to do here and we'll keep busy. It'll be a fun time of fellowship and service. Today we only had 2 hours of school, so that was nice. We had a little ceremony to honor AB honor roll students. I also gave out certificates in my class. I feel very good about the year! I'm looking forward to a break. However, I intend to find a job this summer, so if you know of anything, please let me know! My roommate's mom and 2 sisters are visiting until after I leave. It has been nice spending some time with them. On Sunday I'm going to be staying at one of my student's homes for a week while his family is on vacation. I'll have this huge house to myself and it will be fun!
One other thing I forgot to mention is a goodbye party I attended for some missionaries who have been here for 35 years. It was such a neat time of fellowship. The couple has been a blessing to so many people and they will be missed. It was so neat because the whole missionary community here is like family. They laugh together, cry together and share in one another's lives. I really enjoyed being with them to say goodbye to our friends. Well, I'm working on cleaning up my classroom and in a little bit we have a staff party, so I'll leave you all for now. Have a great week and I'll be seeing many of you soon!

ONLY 2 WEEKS OF SCHOOL LEFT!!!!! Can you tell I'm excited today as I write this? Well, after a weekend in the ocena at the Gulf of Mexico it was hard to come back to school. Now I'm really ready for summer vacation! Well, I guess the biggest event I have to share with you is about the beach trip. We left Puebla around noon on Friday and arrived in Casitas, Veracruz around 4pm. It was a nice trip. There are so many mountain ranges in Mexico. A lot of the way was going through mountains. It's beautiful. I did have one minor problem. Well, first of all, I came down with an earache and a sore throat on last Wednesday night, so Thursday I visited the doctor and got some medicine. It's risky coming down from 7,000ft altitude to 0ft with ear problems, so that is why I went to the doctor. Anyways, I was feeling better, but when we started descending my ears started to pop, only my right ear didn't carry out releasing the pressure, so I went for nearly 48 hours without full hearing and with the sound you have when you have water in your ears. That was not fun. Most of the time there wasn't any pain, but it was really annoying. Finally, when we came back up it got better. Our hotel in Casitas in right on the beach so on Friday evening my friends and I walked along the shores and collected shells and sand dollars. Then after dark we looked for crabs. Although, we didn't have to do much seeking- they were all over. I've never seen a crab so close up. They are very interesting little creatures. On Saturday I spent a lot of time in the ocean, learning how to catch and ride a wave. That is so cool! The only problem is that nearly every time you end up getting water-logged when you reach the end of the wave. It pulls you under right next to the shore. This was only the 2nd time in my life that I've been in the ocean, so it was still very exciting for me. Sunday morning I woke up very congested and decided to stay out of the water, but I enjoyed sitting on a log at the edge of the shore and watching the waves thunder in. It was a nice time just to meditate on God's goodness in His creations. I enjoyed it. Each day we had a small service with singing and a special message. Rick Hudson was the speaker. We enjoyed learning about how God travels with us on our journey through life. What a comfort that is to know! On Sunday around 12pm we packed up and headed back to Puebla. It was a great trip!
Tonight the senior high is putting on a play. Debbie Hudson is in it. I'm sure it will be a fun time. Tomorrow is a banquet for the senior high, which teachers are invited to and Saturday night there is a Teacher Appreciation Dinner. So, I will have a full weekend ahead of me with lots of fun activities.
I have two items for prayer this week. The first is that I will get over my sickness. I'm still congested and coughing alot. Secondly, please pray for the mission teams from LBT. The high schoolers are going to New York and the college group is coming here to Puebla. They need our prayers as the prepare and as they trust in God to provide the necessary funds. Thank you. Let us also not cease to give thanks to our God who is mighty and able to do exceedingly, abudantly above all we ask or think according to His riches!!! Have a great week! Angelina

Do you know what tomorrow is? Tomorrow is May 5. What, you may ask, is so important about May 5th. Well, to Poblanos, (people who live in Puebla) May 5 is an important day in history. There is even a street named after it (Cinco de mayo) and we have school off. On May 5, 1862, the French army, under Napoleon's rule, attacked Puebla. The highly trained French military far outnumbered the Mexican farmers and Indians. Still, the Mexicans defeated the French. So, now we have a day off to celebrate. My friend and I are planning to go to the parade tomorrow, on cinco de mayo street, of course. I am looking forward to it. There will probably be more Mexicans there than I've ever since all at once. Besides that, it will be fun to see how a Mexican parade differs from ours in the US.
Well, I have a praise. Last week was a very frustrating week in my classroom. The students were having such difficulty following directions and obeying the rules. Plus, they were being careless. For example, one student tried to sharpen a crayon in the electrical pencil sharpener and of course it broke off and got stuck in there. Then another day, one student was trying to put the pull-down map up and let it go. So, it went up very quickly, and came crashing to the floor. Well, getting to the praise. I really prayed about it over the weekend, because I had not helped the situation by letting some things slide and I was determined to be strict on my discipline plan so that everyone would have a better day at school. So, praise the Lord, it's been a great week so far. The students have been very well behaved and getting things done. Oh, what a little prayer can do. At college I kept a quote stuck on my computer. It says, "You can accomplish more in an hour with God than in a lifetime without Him." My friends, how true it is! So, I encourage you to spend time in fellowship with God. It may not always change the situation around you, but it can sure help the way you see it and respond to it!
Well, this weekend I'm going to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico, Casitas, Veracruz, to be specific. Every year the school takes a trip there. The Hudsons are also going, as this is Debbie's last year. I'm excited. We should have nice weather. It's been kind of rainy these days and a little cooler. However, the weather is much warmer down at sea level! Well, I will give you the details when I write next.
On Saturday I had the opportunity to go on a prayer retreat with my church here. We had a nice time and it was neat to fellowship with the people of the church. We had sessions to pray for different things. We did a lot of group praying and thus, I got a lot of Spanish practice. I was pretty nervous to pray in Spanish and once in the middle of praying, I realized I had no idea what the next word was in Spanish. So, I just did the best I could- God understood me. I did have many people encourage me by telling me how much my Spanish has improved and that it's getting good. That's always nice to hear. Hopefully it will just continue to get better. Please pray for an opportunity for me to use Spanish this summer in the Lima area. Also, please pray that God will open up a door for a summer job, as I really need one. Also, let me know if you know of any job openings. Thanks so much for your prayers and support! Have a great week!
